Program Application Ranking Dates

NRCS accepts applications for its conservation programs year-round. State Technical Committees, composed of conservation and agricultural-related agency and organization representatives, work with NRCS to identify resource priorities and how best to address them. NRCS then sets state-specific, ranking dates to evaluate applications for funding that account for producer needs, staff workload and ensure potential participants have ample opportunities to apply. You should apply by your state’s ranking dates to be considered for funding in the current cycle. Funding is provided through a competitive process.

Below are application ranking dates by state for the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP), Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP), Agricultural Conservation Easement Program (ACEP), and Agricultural Management Assistance (AMA). If you apply after the ranking date for the program you’re interested in, NRCS will automatically consider your application during the next funding cycle.

Some states have also announced ranking dates for programs including EQIP Climate-Smart Agriculture and Forestry (EQIP-CSAF), EQIP Conservation Incentive Contracts (EQIP-CIC), CSP Grasslands Conservation Initiative (CSP-GCI) and state-specific RCPP programs.

States may have additional ranking dates and funding cycles throughout the year if more funding becomes available. As states finalize their program ranking dates and if additional funding cycles become available, the updated dates will be added to state’s list below. If you apply after the listed program ranking date, NRCS will automatically consider your application during the next funding cycle.
