Saratoga Springs Watershed (Sponsor = Saratoga Springs)

The project is funded through authority of the Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Act.

Project Description

The United States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), with Saratoga Springs City as the project sponsor, is proposing to partially fund through the Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Act (Public Law [PL] 83-566), the Saratoga Springs Watershed Project (Project) in Utah County, Utah. Improvements are being proposed to reduce flood damages to structures, transportation infrastructure, public utilities, and property in Saratoga Springs City for up to a 24 hour/100-year flood event at two locations.

NEPA Analysis

NRCS, as the lead federal agency, is initiating National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) analysis in the form of a Watershed Plan and Environmental Assessment (Plan-EA) to analyze impacts to the natural and human environment from this Project. The Plan-EA will comply with the Council on Environmental Quality’s regulations at 40 CFR Parts 1500-1508 which require an evaluation of potential environmental impacts associated with federal projects and actions.

Current Status

The Scoping public comment is complete. Scoping documents can be found in the Project Documents section below.  NRCS is currently developing project alternatives and preparing the Draft Plan-EA. A copy of the Draft Plan-EA will be provided for review and comment after completion.
