Alabama NRCS Hosted Fiscal Year 2023 State Technical Committee Meeting
NRCS State Technical Committee meeting was held on August 10, 2023
Auburn Alabama, August 10, 2023 – NRCS Alabama hosted the FY23 NRCS State Technical Committee meeting for stakeholders and partners, at the Auburn University, Forestry, Wildlife and Environment building conference hall. This committee serves in an advisory capacity on technical matters related to NRCS program delivery and was the first in-person State Technical Committee meeting since 2019.
The general morning session was filled to capacity with stakeholders and partners who enjoyed presentations from the Alabama NRCS, State Conservationist, Ben Malone, the ASTC for Technology, Shannon Weaver, the State EIQP manager Frank Cochran, the Easement Program Manager Mark Howell, the State Agronomist Worku Burayu and Jacob Barret with the Longleaf Alliance.
The morning session concluded with a vigorous Q&A session moderated by Mrs. Weaver. Attendees then returned after lunch and attended Sub Committee breakout sessions for Urban Ag and Longleaf Pine.
