What is the National Resources Inventory?

The National Resources Inventory (NRI) program is the Federal Government's principal source of information on the status, condition, and trends of soil, water, and related resources in the United States.

The NRI is conducted by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and is based on scientific and rigorous sample survey protocols.
