Regional Conservation Partnership Program - Oregon

Oregon's Regional Conservation Partnership Program

Farmers, ranchers and forest owners who manage property within a current RCPP project area may be eligible for conservation assistance from NRCS and other partners. New RCPP projects are announced annually. Many projects take place over three to five years.

The map linked below shows current funding opportunities for Oregon farmers, ranchers and forestland owners to obtain financial assistance from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) through its Strategic Approach to Conservation. If your farm, ranch, or forestland is located within one of these project areas, you may be eligible for financial assistance to help you perform conservation activities on your land.

How to Apply

Contact your your local NRCS field office to start the process. Partners are strongly encouraged to work with their local NRCS field office and Basin Team Leaders to develop project concepts and work through proposals. Eligible lead partners are encouraged to apply.

Oregon's RCPP Projects

Klamath Basin Farming and Wetland Collaborative
A landowner in Chippewa County, Wisconsin worked with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Chippewa County Land Conservation and Forest Management (LCFM) to restore a wetland area and create a riparian buffer.

Stinkingwater Area Medusahead Management Plan
Ranch owners Frank and Jackie Mills utilized the U.S. Department of Agriculture USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service NRCS Windbreak Restoration Conservation Practice 650 to remove dead and dying trees from an existing windbreak, a.k.a. shelterbelt, and added rows of Junipers on their land in Crawford, NE, in the Great Plains region of the United States, on July 23, 2021. Their windbreak has a tall center row that was originally planted with elm and cedar trees from the 1950s. This row was filled in
