Update: USDA Fairbanks Service Center Office Relocation
Effective July 28, 2025, the USDA will no longer occupy office space at the USDA Fairbanks Service Center, located at 590 University Ave, Suite B. USDA staff are still available to assist you by phone, email, or in-person by appointment only. Staff will be working remotely and will continue providing customer service until new office space can be acquired. More Information

Alan D. McBee, State Conservationist

Alan D. McBee is the NRCS Alaska State Conservationist based in Palmer, Alaska. He has worked for NRCS since 2003. Alan began his career as a rangeland management specialist student trainee in his home state of New Mexico, where his family still owns a small hay farm. He grew up raising cattle and was an active participant in 4H. Throughout his career Alan worked for NRCS in multiple states—Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Washington before coming to Alaska in 2019. Alan has a strong background in process improvement and embraces a philosophy of making small improvements over time to create major positive change.
