Public Notice of Availability

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), with American Fork City, Lehi City, and Saratoga Springs City as the project sponsors, announce the availability of the Final Supplemental Watershed Plan No.15 and Environmental Assessment (Plan-EA) for a flood prevention project (Project) within the American Fork-Dry Creek Watershed in Utah County, Utah. This project is partially funded through the Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Act (Public Law [PL] 83-566).

Project Description

The United States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), with American Fork City as the project sponsor and Lehi City and Saratoga Springs as co-sponsors, is proposing to fund through the Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Act (Public Law [PL] 83-566) flood prevention improvements at eight (8) locations within the American Fork-Dry Creek Watershed in Utah County, Utah.

NEPA Analysis

NRCS, as the lead federal agency, has prepared a Final Watershed Plan-EA that analyzes potential impacts to the natural and human environment from this project. The Plan-EA also integrates analysis following the Principles, Requirements and Guidelines for Water and Land Related Resources Implementation Studies and Federal Water Resource Investments (PR&G, 2018). The Draft Plan-EA was reviewed by NRCS-Utah, the National Watershed Management Center, and the National NRCS Headquarters. The Draft Plan-EA was available for public comment between June 9, 2025 and July 9, 2025. A public meeting was held for the Project on June 23, 2025.

Current Status

The NRCS has prepared a Final Plan-EA has and issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Project. The Final Plan-EA and FONSI can be downloaded from the Project Documents section below.
