NEW MEXICO ASSOCIATION OF CONSERVATION DISTRICTS (NMACD) EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY - STATEWIDE
NATURAL RESOURCES SPECIALIST (19 POSITIONS - AZTEC, GALLUP, GRANTS, CUBA, LOS LUNAS, LAS VEGAS, ESTANCIA, FORT SUMNER, MOUNTAINAIR, SANTA ROSA, CLAYTON, TUCUMCARI, DEMING, CARRIZOZO, SOCORRO, LAS CRUCES, PORTALES, CHAMA, HERNANDEZ.)
Performs a variety of duties related to carrying out a coordinated natural resources conservation program to assist customers meet their conservation needs for applicable USDA Farm Bill Programs.
Requires bachelor’s degree or higher in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resources management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
FARM BILL PROGRAM SPECIALIST (2 POSITIONS – CLAYTON, MORA)
Provides administrative support for USDA Farm Bill Programs; assists agriculture producers apply for programs; helps prepare contracts, payments, and tracks the status of contracts and payments.
Requires good computer skills including Microsoft Windows, Word,
Excel; experience with basic office operations and bookkeeping; agricultural background not required but beneficial.
SOIL CONSERVATION TECHNICIAN (5 POSITIONS – CUBA, T or C, DATIL, LOVINGTON, PORTALES)
Helps design, install, and/or maintain soil & water conservation practices such as
livestock or irrigation pipelines, erosion control structures on agricultural
lands. Requires post high-school education related to agriculture occupations,
specialized experience, or combination of both.
RANGELAND MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST – 1 POSITION (TUCUMCARI)
Inventories rangeland resource conditions and recommends improvements; helps prepare resource management plans; assists in developing grazing systems and other rangeland improvement practices. Requires a degree in rangeland or related disciplines including 42 hours of combination of plant, animal and soil sciences, and natural resources management.
All positions are at-will, part-time or full-time, with vacation/sick leave benefits. May work remotely from home. Salary will be based on experience and qualifications of the applicant and may range from $17.01 – 28.83 per hour.
