Yamhill Partnership for Water Quality
County: Yamhill
Primary Resource Concern Addressed:
- Field sediment, nutrient and pathogen loss - Sediment transported to surface water
- Source water depletion - Inefficient irrigation water use
Project Description
The objective of this proposed Conservation Implementation Strategy (CIS) is to improve water quality and anadramous fish habitat in the South Yamhill River watersheds. This CIS aims to increase the effectiveness of NRCS conservation funds by partnering with Oregon State Department of Agriculture and Yamhill Soil and Water Conservation District, in order to leverage and multiply available resources.

Application Questions
NRCS uses prioritization questions to evaluate applications for this initiative. See the list of workload prioritization questions on the Oregon EQIP page. Ranking questions below will also apply.
Ranking Questions
- Will buffers of permanent vegetation be established along riparian areas and ditch banks that will reduce soil erosion from entering surface water, utilizing the following practices: 327, 612, 342, 382?
- Will planned practices increase the annual water savings estimate by 20% or more?
- Will Intermediate, Advanced, or Soil moisture sensors Irrigation Water Management be implemented as part of this contract?
- Will heavy use areas (561) be implemented to reduce soil erosion from entering the surface water? 30 points
- Will conservation cover (327) be established as part of this contract to reduce erosion, and to establish perennial cover on cropland?
- How much will planned practices reduce sediment delivery by as calculated by RUSLE2?
