EQIP-CIC Central Coast/Upper Willamette/Southwest Oregon Basins
Counties: Benton, Coos, Curry, Douglas, Jackson, Josephine, Lane, Lincoln, and Linn
Land Use: Pasture, Farmstead
Primary Resource Concerns Addressed
- Soil Quality Limitations
- Field Sediment, Nutrient and Pathogen Loss
- Degraded Plant Condition
Background on EQIP-CIC: Producers may use incentive contracts as a “steppingstone” from correcting resource issues on specific land units through EQIP, to achieving sustainable stewardship on their entire operation. Conservation Incentive Contracts are available nationwide and help producers address priority resource concerns, like sequestering carbon and improving water quality in high-priority areas. Incentive contracts now offers new conservation evaluation and monitoring activities to help report outcomes of practices.

Ranking Criteria
NRCS uses these questions to evaluate application for this initiative and to prioritize application for potential funding. State and national ranking questions also apply. See more information on the EQIP program page.
Ranking Questions –
- Are both Prescribed Grazing and Nutrient Management included in the conservation plan to address identified resource concerns?
- Will Prescribed Grazing and/or Nutrient Management be applied to all of the farm’s pastureland?
- Does the grazing management plan limit livestock access to waterways?
- Will management changes be implemented to improve species diversity, including flowering plants such as clover, in pastures?
- Will plant productivity, vigor and diversity be improved by implementing a Prescribed Grazing Plan?
- Will soil amendments be properly managed through an approved Nutrient Management Plan?
