Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Claims Office, USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), and the Tierra y Montes and Western Mora Soil and Water Conservation Districts to Host Information Sharing Community Events on June 13th and 15th

The Claims Office and NRCS will discuss their newly formed partnership to provide Conservation Restoration Plans to claimants. The Soil and Water Conservation Districts and NRCS will also discuss other ongoing conservation efforts and new developments.

Information Sharing Community Events on June 13th and 15th 

SANTA FE, N.M., June 12, 2023- The Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Claims Office, USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), and the Tierra y Montes and Western Mora Soil and Water Conservation Districts will host two community events in Las Vegas and Mora. The Las Vegas event will be on Tuesday, June 13, 6 - 8 p.m. on the New Mexico Highlands University campus in the Student Center, on the corner of National Ave. and 8th St., Las Vegas, NM, Rooms 321-322. The Mora event will be on Thursday, June 15, 5:30-7:30 p.m. on the Mora High School campus, on 10 Ranger Road. 


These events will discuss and answer questions on the NRCS and Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Claims Office partnership to help claimants understand Conservation Restoration Plans, as well as other programs such as the Emergency Watershed Protection Program (EWP) that are available to help landowners through their local Soil and Water Conservation Districts and NRCS.

 
Representatives from the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Claims Office, USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), and the Tierra y Montes and Western Mora Soil and Water Conservation Districts will be present at these events to answer questions and provide information on conservation efforts.
