The USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Idaho announced Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 sign-ups using Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) funding through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) and the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP).

BOISE, Idaho, February 27, 2023 –The USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Idaho announced Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 sign-ups using Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) funding through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) and the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP).

The application deadlines are:

  • CSP - March 24, 2023
  • EQIP - April 7, 2023

Some of the highlights of this once-in-a-generation investment and opportunity for the agricultural communities that USDA serves are the following:

  • IRA will provide an additional $19.5 billion over five years for climate smart agriculture through several NRCS conservation programs.
  • This builds on other climate efforts, including the renewed efforts to encourage producers to adopt cover crops, adopt soil health practices and implement nutrient management in recent years.

While applications are accepted throughout the year for each of these programs, interested producers should submit applications to their local NRCS office by the deadlines to ensure their applications are considered for 2023 funding. Applications submitted after the deadline will be automatically deferred to the next funding period.
