Frameworks for Conservation Action

Through Frameworks for Conservation Action, NRCS offers strategies to address threats to our natural resources and wildlife across the country. The frameworks found collaboration, partnerships, proven conservation to address natural resource challenges, and action to move the work forward.   

Working Lands for Wildlife Frameworks for Conservation Action

To strengthen wildlife conservation on working lands, the USDA is updating three existing Working Lands for Wildlife (WLFW) frameworks in the Sagebrush Biome, Great Plains Grasslands, and Northern Bobwhite, Grasslands and Savannas, and to newly integrate FSA’s Conservation Reserve Program; and working with partners to develop four new frameworks across the country: Western Migratory Big Game, Eastern Deciduous Forest, Eastern Aquatic Connectivity, and Southeastern Pine Ecosystems. Western Water and Working Lands Framework for Conservation Action

This framework is laying the foundation to help producers conserve water, address climate change and build drought resilience in the West. Read more
