USDA Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP) Funds Available for Non-Lethal Conflict Reduction Project for Colorado Landowners

USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Colorado and the Western Landowners Alliance (WLA) announce a funding opportunity through USDA’s Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP) for eligible applicants included in phase 1 counties (see above map). Agricultural producers interested in implementing land management activities on their agricultural operation to enhance terrestrial habitat and reduce carnivore-livestock conflicts have until February 7, 2025, apply.
RCPP Land Management (LM):
The goals of this special funding opportunity are to:
- assist producers with reducing risk for carnivore - livestock conflicts,
- assist producers with conservation practice scenarios like range riding, carcass management, scare devices and potentially other supporting practices, and
- assist producers with the following conservation benefits: terrestrial habitat, livestock production limitations, and field sediment, nutrient and pathogen loss.

Applications must contain project ID “3186” and “land management” activity type in section 2.a. Fully completed application packets must be received by the service center no later than 4:00PM MST on February 7th to be considered.
To be eligible for this funding opportunity, an agricultural producer must have updated farm records with the Farm Service Agency (FSA) and meet all program and project eligibility requirements. Project applications will be evaluated over the winter, with contracts for approved projects signed in early summer 2025. Subsequent signup periods will occur each year through 2028 as long as there is available funding for new projects.
