NRCS Utah Announces application cutoff date for Regional Conservation Partnership Program

SALT LAKE CITY, January 6, 2023--The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Utah announced that February 5, 2023, is the cutoff date to apply for assistance for the Utah Headwaters Initiative project through the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP). NRCS has partnered with Summit Land Conservancy and Trout Unlimited to help producers improve habitat connectivity and water quality for native and wild fisheries in both the Weber and Provo River watersheds. 

“I am excited for the opportunity to partner with eligible producers in the Weber and Provo River Watersheds to address natural resource concerns through habitat improvement,” said Trisha Cracroft, NRCS Utah Acting State Conservationist. “These watersheds are integral to sustaining populations of Bonneville cutthroat trout and bluehead sucker.” 

RCPP promotes coordination of NRCS conservation activities with partners that offer value-added contributions to expand our collective ability to address on-farm, watershed, and regional natural resource concerns. Through RCPP, NRCS seeks to co-invest with partners to implement projects that demonstrate innovative solutions to conservation challenges and provide measurable improvements and outcomes tied to the resource concerns they seek to address.
