Kanab Creek Watershed (Sponsor = Kanab City)

Project Description

The United States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), with Kanab City as the project sponsor, are proposing to fund through the Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Act [Public Law (PL) 83-566], improvements within the Kanab Creek Watershed. The Kanab Creek Watershed encircles the city of Kanab on the North, East, and West, and the town is at the bottom of the watershed. The Kanab Creek Watershed is in Kane County.  The proposal includes the construction of detention basins and improving downstream conveyance to reduce flooding to the city, protect existing agricultural areas, businesses, roadway and utility infrastructure and help alleviate erosion control.
