This pasture walk will leave you with the knowledge to guide you towards successfully implementing winter grazing on your farm!

Join NRCS Resource Conservationist Myles Elsen for a tour of TWO beef operations in action and discuss winter grazing topics like:

  • How do cattle hold up outside in winter?
  • What should you expect the ground look like?
  • How do the cattle get water?
  • What to do when temperatures get really cold or there is rain in forecast?
  • How to place bales and when?

Learn about identifying Critical and Sensitive areas to avoid when plotting out winter grazing paddocks. Discussions on winter water systems, wind protection, heavy use pads, and more!
