Cascade County Montana Local Working Group Meeting

Event Date
November 30, 2023
See details.
Montana Electric Cooperative Association Meeting Hall, Great Falls, MT
Wetlands on Muddy Creek in Cascade County, Montana

The Cascade Conservation District is hosting a meeting to gather input from local stakeholders to help prioritize natural resource concerns and guide NRCS funding opportunities.

Please RSVP no later than November 22, 2023, to the Cascade Conservation District.

The Cascade Conservation District (CCD) is inviting Cascade County landowners of every size including farmers and ranchers along with agency partners, bordering conservation districts, local businesses and nonprofit organizations to a meeting designed to create a 3-5 year county wide natural resource strategic plan with annual work plan goals and objectives derived from that. The results of which will:

  • Identify issues – Agreement on primary issues affecting natural resources in Cascade County. These may be environmental, policy, practice, and others.
  • Source potential funding – Identify funding opportunities from multiple angles.
  • Create momentum through partnership – How do we work together and stay in communication? How do we move the needle? Who is responsible for what? Who can help with what?
  • Measure progress – How do we measure positive or neutral changes to the identified issue?

The hope is that this is the start of a good framework for a Cascade County strategic plan. We are hoping that you and/or a representative from your agency will participate. Please be prepared to share relevant projects, programming and services with the group. We will limit the morning hours to introduction and information about programming and focus for this area of the state and related challenges and benefits. Any handouts are encouraged. We would then ask you to stay to help incorporate ways to meet the above listed results as stewards, stakeholders and partners as we craft a basic strategic plan framework that can be built upon. From this framework, we can look at next steps, funding sources to meet priorities and unlikely partnership to further a healthy landscape within the greater Cascade County area.

The meeting is Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Montana Electric Cooperative Association meeting hall at 501 Bay Dr. in Great Falls, MT.

We would love to have you join us. Please RSVP (yes or no) no later than November 22, 2023.   Please reach out with any questions prior to the RSVP deadline and please share with your contact lists for this area and anyone else you feel would be interested in attending.
