Blake Glover, State Conservationist

Blake Glover is based in the NRCS State Office in Syracuse. He has provided state leadership for operations and program management since January 2019 for forty-three field offices, three area offices, and a plant materials center.

A native of Holts Summit, Missouri, Glover earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agribusiness from Lincoln University in Missouri, a Historically Black College and University. He began his NRCS career in his home state of Missouri as a Cooperative Education student and started full-time with the agency in 2002 as a Soil Conservationist in the northeastern part of the state. He spent eight years with the agency in Missouri before being selected as the Area Program Manager in Flagstaff, Arizona. During his tenure there, he worked with numerous customers, including underserved tribal communities of the Navajo Nation, Hopi Tribe, and Havasupai Tribe.

In 2011, Glover was hired as the Area Conservationist for the southern half of New Mexico, stationed in Las Cruces. From there he became the New York State Conservationist, and since then has completed temporary leadership assignments in Arizona, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, and Montana.

Glover and his wife Olga have three children: Kristian, Julia, and Kole. He and his family enjoy watching sports, attending his son’s lacrosse games and spending quality time as a family.
