American Fork-Dry Creek (Mill Ditch) Supplemental Watershed #14 (Sponsor = Pleasant Grove City)

Project Description
The United States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), with Pleasant Grove City as the project sponsor, is proposing to fund through the Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Act (Public Law 83-566) improvements within the American Fork-Dry Creek Watershed in Utah County, Utah. The proposed work includes irrigation conveyance improvements and rehabilitation of a diversion at the mouth of American Fork Canyon, located in Utah County, Utah.
NEPA Analysis
NRCS, as the lead federal agency, is initiating National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) analysis in the form of a Supplemental Watershed Plan #14 and Environmental Assessment (Plan-EA) to analyze impacts to the natural and human environment from this project. The Plan-EA will comply with the Council on Environmental Quality’s regulations at 40 CFR Parts 1500-1508, which require an evaluation of potential environmental impacts associated with federal projects and actions.
Current Status
The Supplemental Plan-EA #14 was authorized by NRCS April 27, 2021. Phase 1 for piping Mill Ditch has been installed. Phase II final design is underway which includes additional piping and rehabilitation of the diversion at the mouth of American Fork Canyon.
Project Schedule
The phase II piping portion is estimated to be installed in 2023 with installation of the diversion structure in late 2024 early 2025.
