Natural Resources Conservation Service is accepting applications from agricultural producers in Minnesota for the Agricultural Conservation Easement Program - Wetland Reserve Easement component (ACEP-WRE) through January 13, 2023.

ST. PAUL, Dec. 15, 2022, - The Natural Resources Conservation Service is accepting applications from agricultural producers in Minnesota for the Agricultural Conservation Easement Program - Wetland Reserve Easement component (ACEP-WRE), that helps producers protect, restore, and enhance wetlands which have previously been degraded.

While NRCS accepts ACEP applications year-round, Minnesota producers and landowners should apply for AECP-WRE by January 13, 2023, to be considered for funding in the current cycle. Applications received after the sign-up date will automatically be considered during the next funding cycle. Funding is provided through a competitive process. The State Conservationist reserves the right to establish additional signup periods at his discretion.

ACEP-Wetland Reserve Easements (WRE) help restore, protect and enhance wetlands on eligible land. Wetland reserve easements are either perpetual, for 30-years, or 30-year contracts (for Indian Tribes).
