$1.2 Million in Land Management and Land Rental Funding Available for Connecticut’s Livestock Producers

The USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), in partnership with American Farmland Trust, will be accepting applications for financial assistance for Land Management and Land Rental activities through the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP). Livestock producers across Connecticut are eligible for this program. Applications are accepted year-round; however, the deadline for FY2024 is October 31, 2023.

This funding is part of the Western New England Regenerative Agriculture Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP) Project, focused on increasing the adoption of regenerative agriculture practices in Western New England livestock farms through technical and financial assistance opportunities. These funds will assist livestock producers in implementing conservation practices to improve soil health or protect water quality. Examples of eligible projects include prescribed grazing, pasture and hay planting, cover crop planting, pollinator habitats, and more.

To apply, eligible producers should either email Jennie Kapszukiewicz or call at
(413) 240-4629 for assistance, and indicate their interest in the 2311 - Regenerative Agriculture in New England Project on their application. To learn more, visit AFT’s website.
