Pocahontas M&I Irrigation Efficiency and Water Quality

County: Baker

Primary Resource Concern Addressed: Source water depletion - Inefficient irrigation water use

Project Description
The purpose of this conservation implementation strategy is to increase the irrigation conveyance & on-farm application efficiencies while further improving the irrigation water quality. This is intended to increase the drought resiliency of irrigated crop lands within the Baker Valley dependent upon stream flow from Marble and Mill Creeks, while in addition, improving mid to late season stream conditions for bull and native red-band trout by reducing the amount of flow diverted from Mill and Marble Creeks through increased efficiency of irrigation water use.
