NEW MEXICO ASSOCIATION OF CONSERVATION DISTRICTS (NMACD)

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
STATEWIDE 

NATURAL RESOURCES SPECIALIST (12 POSITIONS-, ALBUQUERQUE, AZTEC, CLOVIS, LAS VEGAS, M0RA, MOUNTAINAIR, SANTA ROSA, (SANTA FE OR HERNANDEZ), TUCUMCARI, SOCORRO, (CARLSAD, LOVINGTON, OR ROSWELL), (DEMING OR SILVER CITY): Performs a variety of duties related to carrying out a coordinated natural resources conservation program to assist customers meet their conservation needs for applicable USDA Farm Bill Programs.

Requires a bachelor’s degree or higher in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resources management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
 

FARM BILL PROGRAM SPECIALIST (1 POSITION – HERNANDEZ OR SANTA FE): Provides administrative support for USDA Farm Bill Programs; assists agriculture producers apply for programs; helps prepare contracts, payments, and tracks the status of contracts and payments.
 

Requires good computer skills including Microsoft Windows, Word,
Excel; experience with basic office operations and bookkeeping; agricultural background not required but beneficial.
 

SOIL CONSERVATIONIST (1 POSITION – CARRIZOZO): Performs a variety of duties similar to Natural Resource Specialist. Requires Degree in agriculture or natural resource discipline including minimum 3 hours in soils.

SOIL CONSERVATION TECHNICIAN (2 POSITIONS – CLOVIS (ALAMOGORDO OR T or C): Helps design, install, and/or recommend soil & water conservation practices such as livestock or irrigation pipelines, erosion control structures, etc., on agricultural 
lands. Requires post high-school education related to agriculture occupations,
specialized experience, or combination of both.

All positions are at-will, part-time or full-time, with vacation/sick leave benefits. Salary will be based on experience and qualifications of the applicant and may range from $17.27 – 29.28 per hour.
