The purpose of this project is to implement grazing strategies to promote plant diversity and root growth to ensure grassland stability in the targeted area and will be implemented by the NRCS in collaboration with farmers, ranchers, and landowners within the project area.
The Conservation Implementation Strategy (CIS) Project Rapid Creek Water Restoration 2 will soon enter its second year in Pennington County, South Dakota, serving the community and improving water quality.

This three-year project will reduce the amount of water lost in the St. Germain irrigation ditch and will be carried out by the Pennington Conservation District in concert with landowners and operators within the project area.
