The USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is now accepting applications for the “Odessa Groundwater Replacement Program (OGWRP) EL 86.4 On-farm Project” Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP) project through Nov. 29, 2024.
MOSES LAKE, Wash. – The USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is now accepting applications for the “Odessa Groundwater Replacement Program (OGWRP) EL 86.4 On-farm Project” Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP) project through Nov. 29, 2024.
The OGWRP EL 86.4 On-farm RCPP is a project in Adams and Franklin counties, which makes funding available for producers interested in improving source water depletion and terrestrial habitat. Common practices include irrigation pipeline, pumping plant, and conservation cover. NRCS and many partners will provide technical assistance and funding for land management activities.
The project is led by the Columbia Basin Conservation District in partnership with 10 local, state and federals entities, including Bureau of Reclamation, Department of Ecology’s Office of Columbia River, Washington State Department of Agriculture, Washington State Conservation Commission, Franklin County Conservation District, and East Columbia Basin Irrigation District.
Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP) is a voluntary program that provides financial and technical assistance to agricultural producers to plan and implement conservation practices that improve soil, water, plant, animal, air, and related natural resources on agricultural ground. Eligible producers and entities interested in applying for financial assistance through this special RCPP sign-up may apply now.
RCPP funding is limited, and applications will be subject to a ranking system. To be eligible, it is important that interested parties visit their local Farm Service Agency offices as soon as possible to ensure that their farm records are established. All applicants must have their farm records established and their eligibility paperwork completed with the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) prior to submitting and applying for participation in NRCS programs.
