On August 1, 2024, a team of USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (USDA-NRCS) employees had the opportunity to witness firsthand the incredible potential of drones at the Plum Bluff Emergency Watershed Project Site. Teaming up with experts from Workhorse Drone Survey, the demonstration showcased the power of drone-based Lidar, 3D imagery, and elevation mapping, highlighting the numerous benefits this groundbreaking technology brings to the field.

One of the key advantages of utilizing drones in the USDA-NRCS's work is the significant boost in efficiency and productivity. Drones can cover expansive areas in a fraction of the time compared to traditional methods, allowing for data collection to be carried out swiftly and effectively.
