Western, Wash. – A Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Geotechnical Drill Rig team, provides specialized service to small farms.

Building any structure on an earthen base can become a hazardous situation if the foundation is not designed to properly support what is built on it. This can become a costly endeavor, especially for smaller farms trying to survive in an ever industrializing, mega-farm world.

NRCS-Washington has a team of highly experienced people and equipment that can be used at no cost to producers who first meet the requirements for the service they are requesting.

For two farms in Western Washington, the NRCS-WA drill team was sent out to provide soil testing that will help engineers design foundations that won’t settle to a point of becoming a safety concern or damaging the structure.
