Jackie Byam, State Conservationist
Wyoming NRCS, led by State Conservationist Jackie Byam and the State Leadership Team, directs NRCS programs and services that help ranchers and land-owners plan and carry out voluntary conservation activities on their operations throughout the state of Wyoming. Working closely with the Wyoming Association of Conservation Districts, Byam provides state leadership for operations and program management for 30 USDA Service Center, 120 full time employees, and the state office in Casper.
Byam has worked for NRCS in numerous roles in states across the country, including Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Minnesota South Dakota, National Headquarters and Wyoming. She brings a visionary leadership style to help NRCS address conservation opportunities in Wyoming's diverse agricultural community.
