NRCS Texas and partners hosting Urban Agriculture Forum

The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Texas in partnership with the Prairie View A&M University Small Farm Institute and the San Antonio Food Bank will host an Urban Agriculture Forum on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, beginning at 9:00 a.m. (Central) at the San Antonio Food Bank located at 5200 Historic Old Highway 90 in San Antonio, Texas. “NRCS is committed to working with producers in urban areas,” said State Conservationist Kristy Oates. “NRCS has urban conservationists located in key areas throughout the state dedicated to helping those with urban agricultural operations. This forum will provide a full day of learning and networking opportunities for existing and potential urban agriculture producers.”

The forum lineup includes key speakers covering topics such as soil health, fruit and vegetable production, raising backyard chickens and urban agriculture benefits.
