The Baldwin County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) hosted Baldwin County’s Water Festival on March 22, 2023 at Coastal Alabama Community College in Bay Minette, Alabama

The Baldwin County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) hosted Baldwin County’s Water Festival on March 22, 2023, at Coastal Alabama Community College in Bay Minette, Alabama.  Over 500 fourth grade students from Daphne East,

Magnolia, Stapleton, Foley, Spanish Fort Elementary Schools and Bayside Academy participated. Future Farmers of America (FFA) students from Baldwin County and Elberta High Schools provided leadership during the event. During this event, fourth

grade students visited three learning stations with a focus on water quality. Students created their own “edible aquifer”, learned about different water filtration methods, and made a Water Cycle bracelet. Funding for the event was made possible by Gulf

Coast Resource Conservation and Development. Partners included the Alabama Cooperative Extension System (ACES), Baldwin County Cattlewomen, Baldwin County Commission, Master Gardeners, City of Foley, USDA-Natural Resources

Conservation Service, USDA-Farm Service Agency, Mobile Baykeeper, Conecuh County SWCD, Choctaw County SWCD, Marengo County SWCD, Monroe County SWCD, Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM), and Master
