Local, State and Federal Partnership Secures Supply of Irrigation Water for Farmers and Ranchers after 2011 Flood Event in Emery County.
This report has been reorganized to better reflect two distinct geographic areas being monitored – the low elevation valley sites that are critical for agricultural production and operations, and the high elevation mountainous areas where water supply is generated.
Snowpacks across Utah were near normal on April 1 of this year and subsequently melted rapidly for the first three weeks of the month.
Utah will receive $24,384,000 to invest in post-disaster recovery and/or the rehabilitation of aging dams in fiscal year 2016, said Dave Brown, State Conservationist for NRCS. Utah is among 19 to receive funding.
The Regional Conservation Partnership Program pools together $220 million from NRCS and up to $500 million from local partners.
