USDA and WTRBA Sign a $5.7 Million Partnership Agreement for Two Projects in TN

Representatives from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the West Tennessee River Basin Authority (WTRBA) recently put pen to paper by signing two partnership agreements aimed to address priority natural resource concerns on private lands in Tennessee.

Tennessee to Invest More Than $15 Million in Two WREP Projects

Tennessee NRCS will invest $12.2 million to enroll an additional 5,000 acres in conservation easements and another $3 million to enroll between 350-500 acres of WRE floodplain easements--making its total investment more than $15 million.

Sammy Soil and Ruby Raindrop were created by Howard Whitaker, a retired Tennessee District Conservationist. The mascots have educated children for more than 40 year.
