The National Grazing Lands Coalition (NatGLC) was formerly know as the Grazing Lands Conservation Initiative (GLCI). NatGLC is a nationwide collaborative process of individuals and organizations working to maintain and improve the management, productivity, and health of the Nation’s privately owned grazing land. This process has formed coalitions that represent the grass root concerns that impact private grazing lands. The coalitions actively seek sources to increase technical assistance and public awareness activities that maintain or enhance grazing land resources.
Privately owned grazing lands of Ohio are truly a treasure. There are many uses and values that make them extremely important, not only to the landowners, but also to the entire state. The opportunity exists for a statewide initiative to assure the sustainability of all private grazing lands to enhance these lands for future use and to inform the public of the benefits of making this statewide commitment and investment.
Information needed to develop Grazing Management Plans is available on the e-FOTG. At the site select an Ohio County and go to Section III. The information is listed under GMP Guidance/Tools.
