Sage Grouse Initiative Highlights
NRCS offers the Sage Grouse Initiative to help private landowners improve and enhance sage-grouse habitat and the sustainability of working ranches and farms in the western United States. NRCS Farm Bill conservation programs, including the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) are helping ranchers improve habitat for the sage-grouse. NRCS’ sage grouse efforts are part of Working Lands for Wildlife (WLFW).
