BOZEMAN, Mont., March 28, 2022 – The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Montana is partnering with the Bitter Root Land Trust to offer a new, targeted assistance opportunity through its Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP). While NRCS accepts applications year-round, eligible landowners within the project priority area should apply by April 29, 2022, to be considered for this year’s funding.

This RCPP project proposes to use conservation easements to protect small but critical properties that possess significant conservation values in the Bitterroot Valley. Preservation of these properties will help protect prime agricultural land, improve soil health and enhance habitat connectivity for the abundant wildlife in the Bitterroot.

General project information can be found at www.mt.nrcs.usda.gov under Programs then Regional Conservation Partnership Program.

To learn more about this opportunity or to apply, contact Kyle Barber, Bitter Root Land Trust Conservation Director at 170 S 2nd Street, Suite B, Hamilton, MT 59840 or 406-375-0956.
