Announcing Two Opportunities for Funding Through Conservation Agreements

NWQI Contribution Agreement

The purpose of this announcement is to advertise opportunities to parties that may interested in partnering with NRCS to provide technical services to address the key conservation objectives in focus areas described below. NRCS will accept applications under this notice for single or multiyear applications submitted by eligible applicants working in North Carolina. Technical assistance services are defined as: technical expertise, information and outreach, training to staff, education, and developing tools necessary for a producer to be able to successfully implement, operate, and maintain the conservation systems to protect natural resources on the agricultural landscape to include forestry, or related agricultural uses. The term includes:


• Technical services provided directly to farmers, ranchers, and other eligible producers, such as conservation planning, technical consultation, and assistance with design and implementation of conservation practices; and


• Technical infrastructure, including activities, processes, tools, and agency functions needed to support delivery of technical services, such as technical standards, resource inventories, training, data, technology, monitoring, and effects analyses. • Provide contract management support which includes, but not limited to, development of financial assistance contracts, completing control of land verification, obtaining signatures from participants, and possibly processing payments. Duties shall also include follow-up with contract holder and practice implementation.This is an Official Notice of Funding Opportunity through a contribution agreement with NRCS to provide technical assistance to producers and assisting field office with contract management producers in the East and Middle Prong of the Roaring River in Wilkes County, NC.

The purpose of this announcement is to advertise opportunities to parties that may interested in partnering with NRCS to provide additional training opportunities to Soil and Water Conservation District and other conservation partnership staff in order for them to obtain or maintain a conservation planning designation as well as ecological and engineering Job Approval Authority (JAA). NRCS will accept applications under this notice for single or multiyear applications submitted by eligible applicants working in North Carolina.

This announcement will be posted on 08/10/2018 and the application deadline will be 08/25/2018. Deadline for submitting questions is 08/15/2018 and responses will be posted by 08/20/2018. The agency anticipates announcing or notifying successful and unsuccessful applicants by 08/30/2018 and expects to have Federal awards in place by 09/30/2018.


Federal Funding Floor and Ceiling Amounts


The funding floor for this announcement $100,000, and the funding ceiling is $160,000. The funding floor means the minimum agreement funding amount for the Federal share per agreement awarded. The ceiling is the maximum agreement funding amount for the Federal share per agreement awarded.
