Mississippi NRCS's Geographic Information Sciences(GIS), under the Assistant StateMississippi Map Conservationist of Operations, has distributed geospatial data and comprehensive GIS Services to NRCS field offices and conservation districts since 2001.  Our goal is to advance technology in a way that helps NRCS meet as many aspects of its mission as possible and in as efficient as possible.  To accomplish this, our GIS Specialist is involved in all aspects of GIS including: application development, geospatial data development and maintenance, software/hardware upgrades, analysis techniques, training, support and new technology piloting and testing.
