Data, Maps, & Analysis

Economics

The policy of NRCS is that economics is an essential consideration in all agency decision making. Economic principles should be applied in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of agency policies and program activities to provide the most cost effective assistance to customers, cooperators, and partners for the sustained use of natural resources.

GIS

A Geographic Information System (GIS) is a combination of software and data designed to view and manage information about geographic places, analyze spatial relationships and model spatial processes. It provides a framework for gathering and organizing spatial data and related information so it can be displayed and analyzed. USDA-NRCS views spatial data and GIS as one of many tools to accomplish our program missions and technical needs.

National Resources Inventory (NRI)

The National Resources Inventory is a statistical survey of land use and natural resource conditions and trends on U.S. non-Federal lands.

Rapid Watershed Assessment

NRCS Colorado developed Rapid Watershed Assessments (RWAs) to provide a natural resource snapshot of each Colorado 8-digit Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC 8).
