Technical Service Providers

What is a Technical Service Provider or TSP?

Technical Service Providers (TSPs) are individuals, private businesses, nonprofit organizations, or public agencies outside of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) that help agricultural producers apply conservation practices on the land. These NRCS certified professionals provide for convenient access to technical services, quality work, and professional one-on-one technical assistance to landowners or producers who participate in USDA conservation programs. Complete information about TSPs can be found on the USDA TSP Website, as well as a list of Colorado Technical Providers.

What kind of work can a TSP do?

TSP's provide conservation technical services to NRCS clients in two broad areas: Conservation Activity Plan (CAP) development and Conservation Practice design, installation and checkout.  There are 14 separate CAPs and the conservation practices are grouped into several different categories, each with their own eligibility requirements.
