The Natural Resources Conservation Service promotes forestry by providing technical assistance to private landowners with assistance from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry to:
Manage existing forestlands in an ecological manner for timber products.
Plant trees and shrubs for erosion control and wildlife habitat improvement.
Plant trees as Riparian Forest Buffers to improve water quality.
Plant trees for windbreaks to reduce wind erosion and conserve energy.
Providing cost share payments for tree planting with the EQIP program.
Provide cost share payments for forest improvements and tree planting with the FIP program.
