Putting Your Garden to Rest: Soil Health Virtual Workshop

As the growing season comes to a close, it’s time to start thinking about how to put your garden to rest. Join us for a virtual workshop to learn about soil health practices for the fall and winter seasons on produce farms and market gardens.

NCAT Soil Specialist Nina Prater and Horticulture Specialist Luke Freeman will lead this online training on Wednesday, September 23, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. CDT on Zoom.

Nina and Luke will discuss the following topics:

Soil health principles
Winter season practices to build soil health on produce farms
Winter cover crop species for Arkansas and the Mid-South
Management of winter cover crops

This Zoom workshop is free, but registration is required. Register online here. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

This virtual workshop will include presentations from Nina and Luke and plenty of time for Q&A. Please come with questions!
