The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service is a strong believer in the team approach to conservation. We work closely with our sister agencies, state and local governments and advocacy groups with like goals to protect the Commonwealth's precious natural resources.

In Virginia, NRCS has been supercharging locally led conservation through the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP) since its inception in 2014. Now a standalone program under the 2018 Farm Bill, RCPP promotes coordination of NRCS and partner activities to address on-farm, watershed and regional natural resource concerns. We also work with public and private partners to evaluate and accelerate adoption of new approaches to natural resource protection through Conservation Innovation Grant (CIG) projects.

Letters of Collaboration: Potential partners seeking letters of collaboration to strengthen application packages for conservation and outreach project grants should submit these requests to the Virginia State Office. View this partner guide (pdf, 253 KB) to get more details on the process and documentation required.
