NRCS announces EQIP programs signup deadline June 21, 2019

MORGANTOWN, W.Va., May 21, 2019– The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) announces the end of the fourth application evaluation period for fiscal year 2019 (FY19). The Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP) National Water Quality Initiative (NWQI) is offered in the Indian Creek Watershed in Monroe County and the EQIP Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP) Cerulean Warbler Forestland Enhancement Project is available statewide. Producers interested in being considered for financial assistance need to submit applications to NRCS by June 21, 2019.

EQIP is a voluntary conservation program that helps agricultural producers in a manner that promotes agricultural production and environmental quality as compatible goals. Through EQIP, agricultural producers receive technical and financial assistance to implement structural and management conservation practices that optimize environmental benefits on working agricultural land and non-industrual private forestland.

Local NRCS offices accept program applications year round. Application evaluations only take place during announced ranking periods. For consideration in the fourth round of  FY19 funding, eligible participants must apply by submitting their application no later than June 21, 2019.
