COLCHESTER, Vermont (March 16, 2022) – The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Vermont has extended the application dates for Land Management applications under the Regional Conservation Partnership Program project titled “The Vermont Stream Restoration Initiative” through April 15, 2022.

In collaboration with the Vermont Natural Resources Conservation Council (NRCC), NRCS is making up to $1,000,000 available for projects located in the RCPP project area that address project resource concerns of Concentrated Erosion and Aquatic Habitat.  In 2023 priority is being placed on those projects which improve aquatic habitat by replacing undersized culverts and increasing open stream-length segments.

RCPP is a voluntary Farm Bill program which provides financial assistance for targeted conservation projects to address priority natural resource concerns in the project area.

Applicants should contact their local NRCS Field office and inform them of their interest in this RCPP project.
