White River Watershed Landowners Can Apply for Conservation Assistance by July 8, 2021

June 8, 2021--NRCS in Vermont announced that landowners in the White River Watershed are eligible for funding through the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP).  This opportunity is made available through a five-year collaborative effort with Trout Unlimited known as the Northern Tier Stream Restoration and Resilience Initiative. This RCPP effort focuses on restoring stream habitat with strategic wood additions and targeting properties for additional riparian plantings and invasive species control. Work will benefit the in-stream fish and macro communities as well as improve water quality and flood resilience for human communities. Priority will be given to applicants within the White River Watershed who seek to restore or improve access to brook trout or Atlantic salmon habitat.

RCPP is public-private partnership that harnesses the power of partnership to help bring about solutions to natural resource concerns throughout the State
