Saratoga Springs Watershed (Sponsor: Saratoga Springs)

Project Description

The United States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), with Saratoga Springs as the project sponsor, is proposing to partially fund through the Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Act (Public Law [PL] 83-566), the Saratoga Springs Watershed Project in Utah County, Utah. Improvements are being proposed within the Warner Draw Watershed to 1) prevent flood damages, 2) further the conservation, development, utilization, and disposal of water, and 3) further the conservation and proper utilization of land.

NEPA Analysis

NRCS, as the lead federal agency, is initiating National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) analysis in the form of a Supplemental Watershed Plan and Environmental Assessment (Plan-EA) to analyze impacts to the natural and human environment from this project. The Plan-EA will comply with the Council on Environmental Quality’s regulations at 40 CFR Parts 1500-1508 which require an evaluation of potential environmental impacts associated with federal projects and actions.

Current Status

NRCS is preparing to begin a public scoping period for the project. Project scoping information and documents will be added as we move forward with the NEPA process.
