NRCS Utah Announces Second AMA Sign Up

Salt Lake City Utah (June 26, 2020) – NRCS is accepting applications from private landowners and tribes for assistance from our Agricultural Management Assistance (AMA) - RMA High Tunnel Systems, being offered in 2020 for a second sign up.

Applications may be submitted at any time, but this application period ends July 24, 2020. Utah farmers seeking conservation planning and financial assistance should contact their local USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) office for help treating natural resource concerns.

Applications for the Agricultural Management Assistance (AMA) program are accepted on a continuous basis. However, NRCS establishes application “cut-off” dates for evaluation and ranking of eligible applications. For consideration in Fiscal Year 2020, the application cut-off date is July 24, 2020. Applicants will be asked to work with NRCS conservation planners to assess resource needs and agree on practices to treat those needs.

For more details on AMA, please contact your local service center. USDA Service Centers are open for business by phone appointment only and field work will continue with appropriate social distancing. While program delivery staff will continue to come into the office, they will be working with producers by phone and using online tools whenever possible. All Service Center visitors wishing to conduct business with NRCS, Farm Service Agency, or any other Service Center agency are required to call their Service Center to schedule a phone appointment. More information can be found at farmers.gov/coronavirus.
