Dakota Farm Talk – Conservation on Tribal Lands

NRCS partners with private landowners to protect the soil on their land. This is also evident on Tribal lands. NRCS Tribal Liaison Darrel DuVall states Tribal decision makers look at primary principals of soil health by using ground cover, keeping roots in the ground, keeping livestock on crop ground, and more solid soil health practices. The Lower Brule Sioux Reservation is a good example of partnership in soil conservation.
