Caribbean Area Soil Scientist Recognized by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

Rios receives congratulations from Colonel Baker.

Samuel Ríos, Soil Scientist at the Mayagüez MLRA Soil Survey Office, received special recognition from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USCoE).  Mr. Ríos provided assistance in the field testing of the hydric soils portion of the Interim Regional Supplement to the Corps of Engineers' Wetlands Delineation Manual: Caribbean Islands Region

On March 19, 2009, Colonel Baker honored Samuel’s dedication on this assignment by awarding him with the U.S. Army's Medal of Achievement (photo at left).
